IMPORTANT NOTICE: Unfortunately, the Police Department double booked the Chater Garden with two events. However, they found a new location for us. The event will be held at the STATUE SQUARE (in front of the former Legislative Council building) in front of the Former Legislative Council Building, which is just around the corner.
Currently, "13.5 million people in Syria need humanitarian assistance due to a violent civil war that began in 2011. 4.9 million Syrians are refugees, and 6.1 million are displaced within Syria; half of those affected are children". (World Vision, 2016)

Please join us for a ‘Candlelight Vigil for Syria’ on Saturday, February 18th at 6.15pm in STATUE SQUARE (in front ot the former Legislative Council Building) in Central to support the victims of the war in Syria. To remember those who have died, and those who continue to suffer in Syria and elsewhere as refugees. Among our speakers will be David Begbie, of the Crossroads Foundation, who will talk of his experiences in refugee camps. We’ll also hear Syrian poetry and hold a minute of silence.

If you would like to donate to Crossroads Foundation’s project supporting Syrian refugees, please go to this link: and fill in as specific project 'We Care for Syria'.

During the event, we will also provide suggestions on other ways you can help.

More details will be provided soon!
